Described in a paper published in the RSC journal Energy & Environmental Science , the smart membrane separator could enable the design of a new category of rechargeable/refillable energy storage devices with high energy density and specific power that would overcome the contemporary limitations of electric vehicles.

Communities and utilities receiving the new technology were partially funded under the Wisconsin Clean Transportation Program jointly administered through the Wisconsin State Energy Office and the US Department of Energy Wisconsin Clean Cities Program. The trucks are used for construction and maintenance of the Marshfield utility grid.

Global energy-related carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced by 70% by 2050 and completely phased-out by 2060 with a net positive economic outlook, according to new findings released by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and the International Energy Agency (IEA). This means reducing energy CO 2 emissions by 2.6%

A report released by the World Economic Forum during its annual meeting in Davos warns that to have a chance of limiting the average increase in global temperatures to 2°C, a level which an increasing number of experts already considers unsafe, at least US$515 billion per year will need to be invested in clean energy globally between now and 2030.

It was a terrific day spent on Renewable Energy and if you follow my Twitter feed you got some of the highlights during the three hour agenda. And in the US, not only is the Obama administration providing a major stimulus program, but 31 states are enacting incentives and mandates to require clean alternative energy for utilities.
