Natural gas-powered Mack TerraPro certified for Federal tax credit. The natural gas TerraPro Cabover also qualifies for tax credits. Mack Trucks, Inc.

In an address at the 2012 Mackinac Policy Conference, Ford Motor Company Executive Chairman Bill Ford said that “ Michigan must become the Silicon Valley of the mobility revolution ” and outlined key public policy areas to help improve the state’s competitiveness and ensure that the state realizes the full benefit of that impending revolution.

Green Car Congress attended the Renewable Energy Finance Forum - Wall Street (REFF-Wall Street) conference (23-24 June) sponsored by Euromoney Energy Events and the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE). Although not part of the conferences formal structure, the themes were addressed in the presentations and panel discussions.

The anaerobic digester is fed the waste from the distillation process and the wastes from 2,000 dairy cattle and 10,000 beef cattle being raised on the site. Madson identified several ethanol plants that were built in industrial settings that were able to use the waste heat, i.e. from an adjacent refinery, to produce their ethanol.

To ignore this potential is wasteful and foolish. It is wasteful and destructive to be burning this versatile molecule; we must stop. The electrical system has perhaps 85% excess capacity most of the year which means we are wasting money in excess electric generation and distribution infrastructure and resources.
