Germany’s Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWi) has approved €900 million for the innovative funding instrument H2Global. In the future, we will have a high demand for green hydrogen and will also need imports in addition to production in Germany.

As part of a pilot project, Audi is procuring 20-inch wheels for the Audi e-tron GT electric car that are made from low-CO 2 emission aluminum supplied by Alcoa to RONAL GROUP, the wheel’s manufacturer. Around 80% of the approximately 7,500 GWh produced by the wind park will be supplied as green electricity for innovative technologies for CO 2 reduction and thus power the transformation of BASF sites in Germany, especially the Verbund site in Ludwigshafen. RWE will develop, build and operate the wind park. BASF will own a stake.

The fuel, jointly developed by Volkswagen, the Coburg University and other project partners, contains up to 33% renewable components based exclusively on residual and waste materials and enables CO 2 savings of at least 20% compared to conventional diesel thanks to the use of biofuels. Volkswagen employees tested the new fuel initially.
