General Motors is voluntarily expanding the current Chevrolet Bolt EV recall ( earlier post ) to cover the remaining 2019 and all 2020-2022 model year vehicles, including the new Bolt EUV. GM will replace defective battery modules in Chevrolet Bolt EVs and EUVs with new modules, with an expected additional cost of approximately $1 billion.

GM is pulling almost 56,000 for the issue, which it said has been blamed for 234 complaints over the last year and a few months. The recall impacts the 2023 Colorado and Canyon, and beyond the 56,000, another 6,000 or so are affected in Canada and Mexico.
