Motorists should be hit with a £3,300 green tax on new cars, an independent green think tank has concluded. The recommendations published today, say that the Government should refocus taxes around green incentives, increasing the levee against polluting activities such as buying gas-guzzlers.

Portuguese drivers are the greenest in Europe when it comes to buying cars with an average CO2 rate of 138g/km (eg. VW Polo) – the least green motorists are from Latvia with a figure of 177g/km (eg. Suggestions were that even in an optimistic climate, car owners plan to remain prudent. GM killed that car because of back room deals with oil companies, and now they expect us to believe that they are just so cutting edge now? doesnt matter because when the average electric car stops, it stops for a long while.
