Noting the references in scientific and policy literature to the need for fast-action mitigation to help avoid DAI and abrupt climate changes, the authors define “fast-action” to include regulatory measures that can begin within 2–3 years, be substantially implemented in 5–10 years, and produce a climate response within decades.

That will enable us in just ten years for $100 billion, much of which the federal government will get back, to cut US oil use in half, by seven million barrels a day. Since our cars and trucks use almost two-thirds of the oil we buy, the quickest way to cut oil use is to free transportation from its grip.

Just two people live in its 3000+ energy-wasting square feet. I mean the governments. It’s just this mind-blowing waste of time. Edison is worse than the government. At least with the government you usually only need to bring them two copies. It’s not anyone in any of the South Bay city governments.

In the 15 months that have passed since I wrote the following, ALL the climate change news has gone from bad, to worse, to much worse than that. For the past three months I’ve been working night and day as the Chairman of the South Bay Los Angeles 350 Climate Action Group. That’s 18 months away.
