Also, keep in mind that low rpm torque isn't the aim when going electric, that uses a lot of battery capacity, so you are looking at spinning the electric motor fairly fast to get that rock crawling ability, and that requires higher battery voltage. That will tell you a lot about what you need for horsepower and torque from an EV motor.

Hello I am slowly working on my EV conversion I did build a 1000 amp ZEVA controller it was a steep learning curve for me , but I enjoyed it the motor is from a Bagnal Lancing forklift , it has 2 sets of field coils , these 2 sets are in series when driving the forklift up and down slow , and only one set is used when driving fast.
