At the time, e-bikes were still rather exotic, at least in the United States, so it seemed worth the expense and effort to build my own. Purpose-built electric bikes and e-bike conversions using hub-motors are now commonplace. That got me thinking, how hard would it be, and how much would it cost, to do a simple conversion now?

The demonstration plant will produce cellulosic sugars from sugarcane bagasse, the fibrous by-product of sugarcane juice extraction. The Brazil plant will also include the company’s proprietary reactor design for continuous enzymatic conversion of biomass to sugar.

After concluding that Iogen had the most advanced technology for building co-located commercial plants at Raízen’s sugar cane ethanol facilities, Raízen committed, in July 2012, an initial investment to a project in Brazil with Iogen through their jointly owned Iogen Energy affiliate.

Unlike prior processes for converting alcohols into hydrocarbons with multiple steps for dehydration, oligomerization, and hydrogenation, the Vertimass consolidated alcohol dehydration and oligomerization (CADO) conversion is accomplished in a single reactor system using a metal exchanged zeolite catalyst. Hannon et al. GJ in the near future.

I have never run out of juice. I tried to build the car in such a way that every component was easily accessible and visible. Thanks to everybody that has offered advice, shared their experience, and inspired me with their builds. My car is the ARC 1 over in the garage section of the forums, for anyone who wants to take a look.

With windows rolled down, conversations do happen. The other guy who had a conversation was not so pleasant. This should be able to juice up the battery overnight. (90 We landed back home at 2230 hrs and got stopped by our own building watchman. As a rule, I avoid using the horn and air conditioning.
