200,000 BMW i3 EVs produced in Leipzig over nearly 7 years

At the BMW Group plant in Leipzig, the 200,000 th BMW i3 model rolled off the production line last week. The BMW i3s (combined power consumption: 14.6 – 14.0 kWh/100 km) with Fluid Black metallic paint finish and accents in BMW i Blue was produced for a customer from Saxony and will be delivered by the BMW branch in Leipzig.

BMW delivers first i3 EV in US

BMW delivered the first all-electric BMW i3 (earlier post) in the US to Boston electric vehicle advocate and Tufts University professor of practice Charles Rabie at the BMW of Boston dealership. The company said that “hundreds” of BMW i3 vehicles are currently at US facilities and ready to be delivered to customers nationwide.

BMW to supply 100 i3 EVs to LAPD

BMW of North America won its bid to supply the Los Angeles Police Department with 100 battery-electric BMW i3 vehicles for use in the department’s transportation fleet. The announcement comes after a field trial during which a BMW i3 was evaluated alongside other EVs on the streets of Los Angeles as part of the LAPD’s every day fleet.
