The systems will autonomously charge part of the electric yard tractor fleet of SSA Marine at the International Container Terminal at the Port of Oakland. ROC-1 will work with high power DC charging stations that use a CCS-1 charging connector, offering capability to autonomously charge the vehicles from existing charging supply equipment.

Its seven large hydrogen tanks offer a combined storage capacity of around 31 kg of fuel, while a 72-kWh-powered set of three batteries supports the performance. The 350-kW e-motor with maximum torque of 2,237 N·m enables dynamic driving performance. The driving range is over 400 km per charge in real world conditions.

The 8TT delivers 483 hp and 1,770 lb-ft of torque, powered by a 409 kWh battery pack. The Class 8 BYD 8TT delivered its zero-emission cargo from Port of Oakland to Tracy, CA. It manage 200 owner-operated trucks each day and currently operates five company trucks, including three BYD 8TT electric trucks that were grant-funded by CARB.

The California Air Resources Board announced a new statewide grant and loan program to help lower-income consumers across California get into the cleanest new and used cars on the market. The Clean Vehicle Assistance Program, run by the Oakland-based nonprofit Beneficial State Foundation, was launched with a $5-million CARB grant.
