The Alliance for Automotive Innovation has issued a warning about the NHTSA’s proposed fuel economy standards for 2027-2032 model year vehicles. As per the group, if the new proposed fuel economy standards are finalized, the industry’s transition to electric vehicles would be compromised.

A new national poll of likely voters conducted by the Mellman Group found that 74% of likely voters favor having “ the federal government require the auto industry to increase average fuel efficiency…to 60 miles per gallon by the year 2025.” The standards will cover model years 2017 to 2025.
