A new analysis by the NGO Transport & Environment (T&E) concludes that diesel cars emit more CO 2 than equivalent cars on a full lifecycle basis—i.e., T&E used the latest real-world fuel consumption figures for diesel and gasoline: 6.3 accounting for the emissions generated during production of the vehicle and the fuel.
