In 2010, electric vehicles still represented a niche market.

MAN, a member of the Volkswagen Group, is now selling a battery-electric van, the MAN eTGE. Providing a range of up to 160 kilometers and a payload of 950 to 1,700 kg, the electric MAN eTGE is suited for urban tasks, depending on the type approval (3.5 A 40 kW charging station fills a battery up to 80% in 45 minutes.

Volvo Penta has developed an electric driveline for leading fire service vehicle manufacturer Rosenbauer’s pioneering fire truck, named “Revolutionary Technology” (RT). The truck was officially launched at an event in Austria. As a result, the RT achieves operating times above the specifications of EN 1846.

Tesla has more than 35,000 Superchargers worldwide, offering a recharge of up to 200 miles for around 15 minutes. EV chargers are necessary for the world to transition from fossil-fuel vehicles to all-electric battery-powered cars. According to the company, Tesla drivers are charged the same price.
