The balance of the GSA purchase for the Postal Service will be more fuel-efficient, four-cylinder vehicles, which will replace aging vehicles at postal offices and facilities across the country. The Postal Service has increased alternative fuel use by 41% since 2006, and plans to reduce petroleum use by 20% over the next five years.

Ryder System’s fleet of natural gas vehicles has surpassed 30 million miles. The fleet consists of liquefied natural gas and compressed natural gas tractors serving customers in California, New York, Michigan, Texas, Arizona, Utah, Maryland, Georgia and Louisiana, as well as in Canada. Ryder also offers LNG fueling at its Fulton, Ga.

UPS plans to build an additional six compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling stations and add 390 new CNG tractors and terminal trucks and 50 liquefied natural gas (LNG) vehicles to its alternative fuel and advanced technology fleet. In 2016, UPS invested $100 million in CNG fueling stations and vehicles.

AmeriPride will use the hybrid-electric F-59 trucks for uniform rental and linen supply delivery in North American metropolitan markets including Arizona and Minnesota. This translates to nearly 4,500 gallons of fuel saved and a reduction of 40 metric tons of CO 2.
