75% of plug-in vehicles sold in the US in 2018 were made in the US

For every year except 2011, the United States has produced the majority of plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) sold in the United States, according to the US Department of Energy (DOE). In 2011, 55% of the PEVs sold in the United States were produced in Japan, 43% in the United States, and 2% in France.

DOE: US Light-duty electric vehicle miles traveled reached 13.7 billion miles in 2020

The number of electric vehicle miles traveled (eVMT) has been increasing each year since the introduction of the first mass market plug-in vehicles in late 2010.
