The Sonata Hybrid system. As promised ( earlier post ), Hyundai unveiled the Sonata Hybrid at the New York International Auto Show. The Sonata Hybrid is Hyundai’s first hybrid in the US market. unveiled the second generation Touareg and showcased the brand’s first hybrid at the 2010 New York International Auto Show. With the hybrid model, a supercharged, direct injection V6 gasoline engine is paired with an electric motor and an eight-speed automatic transmission, reducing fuel consumption and CO 2 emissions by about 40%.
