The American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón made isobutanol its fifth officially approved energy source at the beginning of the 2010 season. These will include Green Tech Talks to fans at track, promotional events and media messaging outlets such as in-broadcast telecasts, blogs, Twitter and various website initiatives.

Toyota also is developing a plug-in hybrid, expected on the road by 2010. BYD plans to sell cars in Europe and the US by 2010. Tags: Plug in Partners. The Chevy Volt , a plug-in electric car, will have the battery power to take most American drivers to and from work every day without using any gasoline at all.

The plug-in Prius is a separate model from the all new 2010 Prius Hybrid. The fleet models will be part of a test bed for Toyota and future development of the plug-in Prius may at some point lead to a consumer model. The plug-in Prius is expected to launch sometime in 2010.

Here is part of the story from Geek.com , Li-Tech claims to have created a new lithium-ion battery, called Separion , that out-does the current offerings from the likes of Toyota and some French car makers.

Consumer Reports rates the Buick Enclave higher than vehicles from Toyota, Volvo, Infiniti, Audi, BMW and Mercedes Benz in the Luxury- Full Size SUV category. With CAFE’s renewed emphasis on fuel economy, from 26 mpg in 2010 to 35.5 Ecotec VVT I-4 will have E85 versions, starting in 2010. It can improve fuel economy by 12%.

A number of other plug-in hybrids, including models from GM, Chrysler, and Toyota, are scheduled to come out in the next few years. The battery is similar to the one selected for the Chevrolet Volt, a plug-in hybrid due out in November of 2010. To go with its performance, the car carries a hefty price tag of $87,000.
