The Chevrolet Malibu is dead. This despite the fact that the sedan was the third-best selling Chevrolet, behind only the Equinox and Silverado. Either way, I think the fact that Chevrolet will not, at least for a while, have a sedan on offer is a bad decision. Ford and Stellantis have mostly exited the space, too.

a company that has developed a low-cost hybrid electric powertrain designed specifically for class 1-3 commercial fleet use ( earlier post ), will display a Chevrolet Express 2500 cargo van fitted with the company’s hybrid technology at the 2012 Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Energy Conference Energy Showcase on 16 March.

A new Carnegie Mellon University study released at the Washington Auto Show finds that for passenger cars, aadvanced vehicles with higher fuel economy—i.e, port fuel injected (PFI) gasoline—during periods of higher fuel costs. But that’s only one element of the equation.

In addition to holding their value better than gasoline-powered vehicles, diesels incur lower fuel costs—12-27% less for passenger cars and SUVs and 4-8% less for medium-duty pickups over three- and five-year periods.
