Ltd unveiled three hybrid motorcycles at the Dealer Expo 2009, 13-16 February, in Indianapolis, IN. All three models are equipped with a lithium-ion battery pack (48V rated voltage and 15 Ah rated capacity) developed by the ABAT. In December 2008, ABAT entered into a Letter of Intent to acquire 55% of Wuxi Angell Autocycle.

Ethos Electric Vehicles, a small, Alaska-based company building custom electric motorcycles and automobiles, has launched a $100,000 crowd-funding campaign for reworking an existing internal combustion engine kit car—the Graber Cars’ La Bala —into a low-volume production, all-wheel drive (AWD) electric roadster.

The Yokeless And Segmented Armature (YASA) topology is a new type of axial flux motor that has no stator yoke, a high fill factor and short end windings which all increase torque density and efficiency of the machine. Over the next 12 months, Oxford YASA Motors will be installing systems into new racing vehicles and TTXGP motorcycles.

On Thursday October 23rd, 2008, Team KillaCycle set their latest drag racing world record at Bandimere Raceway. Rider Scotty Pollacheck piloted the wickedly fast all electric A123Systems NanoPhosphate battery powered motorcycle down the quarter mile in only 7.89 seconds, ending with a top speed of 168 MPH.
