Honda Motor Co., revealed the latest prototype of the EV-neo electric scooter and said it plans to begin lease sales in Japan in December 2010 to businesses and individual business owners who provide mainly delivery services. He's a bit surprised, as are all of us, that Nissan has emerged as the first big automaker to manufacture a mass-produced electric car. The 100 mile range cited by Nissan uses "a number tied to the most optimistic benchmark, the LA4 cycle." The LEAF pack has fewer kWh than my RAV4 EV, but could be almost as heavy. Buyer beware!

Out in the desert as part of Burning Man , our encampment, Snow Koan Solar, is setting up a solar photovoltaic EV Charging Station (at 7:30 and Desert) for electric scooters, golf carts, sofas and barstools. We'll also be taking Burning Man art projects off petroleum generators by switching them to solar electricity.
