Plug In Carolina has selected AeroVironment, Inc. (AV) AV) to supply, install and support a network of public electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in seven South Carolina cities. The multi-port configuration is user friendly and lends itself to cost-effective electrical installation.

BMW Manufacturing earned a 2003 Green Power Leadership Award for using landfill gas to generate a portion of the power needed to operate its Spartanburg, South Carolina manufacturing facility. For the 2013 calendar year reporting period, BMW Spartanburg’s annual green power usage was 69,383,477 kWh—37% of its power usage.

At its Annual Account Press Conference 2015, the BMW Group announced that, for the first time in the history of the Group, 51% of its electricity worldwide is being supplied from renewable sources. At the Spartanburg plant in South Carolina, a methane gas system provides around 50% of the energy required for production.
