Bloomberg New Energy Finance estimates battery cost will decline by almost 10% until 2025, when ZEVs will reach price parity with ICE vehicles. GM plans to introduce 20 new ZEV models by 2023, while Ford promises 13. of the MoU goal, followed by Oregon with 10%. Performance: Battery range has been increasing annually.

CNG-Hybrid Buses: Purchase CNG-Hybrid buses to replace Ford Diesel vehicles in the ART fleet. The CNG-Hybrid buses are heavy duty and larger than the current light duty Ford vehicles.

Navigant’s analysis indicates that only buyers in California and Oregon will purchase sufficient numbers of vehicles in order to meet the ZEV requirement in 2018 and 2019. Automakers like Ford are already looking to manage customers’ home energy by extending the data platforms that they are using to track vehicle power consumption.

I was a big part of building the first-of-its-kind—at least in the Western world that we knew of—heavy-duty charging site in Portland, Oregon. It’s easier to sell to the light-duty market.
