Cadillac will add a Plug-In Hybrid Electric (PHEV) propulsion system to its upcoming range-topping CT6 sedan, to be manufactured at the new Shanghai GM Cadillac plant, Pudong Jinqiao, China. The new PHEV version of the CT6 will be capable of greater than 60 km (32.4 ELR is not offered in the Chinese market.).

Ford has done it's share of electric cars, including the Ranger EV and Th!nk Plans for a 2012 general release of the PHEV Escape did not wow anyone. Of course Ford needed some plan to deal with last year's high gas prices. As the article rightly mentions, there is a great upside for the automakers to sell some electric cars.
