Road Test: 2023 Mazda CX-50 AWD Mazda Wants You to Live A Little The 2023 CX-50 is part of Mazda’s SUV quiver, smallest to largest, of the CX-30, CX-5, CX-50 and CX-9. Mazda wants the CX-50 to be seen as its first-ever adventure-oriented SUV. The front grille is slimmer and more mature than earlier Mazda models.

This past week in Santa Barbara, Mazda invited the automotive media to drive the CX-50 on the highway, twisty mountain roads and then off-road to experience soft sand, steep climbs and descents. So, in reverse order: Audi RS3: I somehow didn’t get around to writing a review of this one. Toyota GR Corolla Morizo: I reviewed this earlier this year, and I keep thinking about it. But, as I noted in my review, it simply does everything you ask of it without complaint. If it’s lightweight and fun to drive, all the better.
