SCE signs 7 contracts for 770 MW of battery-based energy storage for grid reliability

Southern California Edison recently signed seven contracts totaling 770 megawatts of battery-based energy storage resources to help enhance the region’s electric system reliability needs. The recently conducted solicitation and the resulting contracts make up one of the country’s largest energy storage procurements. The projects will enhance electric grid reliability and help address potential energy shortfalls identified in California.
