Tokuyama Corporation and Toyota Motor Corporation (Toyota) have commenced verification tests, using by-product hydrogen, of a stationary fuel cell generator (FC generator) that makes use of the fuel cell system (FC system) installed in the Mirai Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV). The FC generator has been set up within the Tokuyama Factory grounds in Shunan City, Yamaguchi Prefecture.

Polestar, the electric performance car brand jointly owned by Volvo Car Group and its parent Zhejiang Geely Holding, is open to take production orders for the Polestar 2 electric fastback. Polestar unveiled the car, which is positioned to take on the Tesla Model 3, in February 2019. ( Earlier post.). At introduction, the Polestar 2 will feature a 300 kW long-range dual motor with a 78 kWh battery pack (in 27 modules).

Ford Mustang Mach-E owners in the US will receive 250 kWh of complimentary charging through FordPass Rewards at Electrify America fast-charging stations. For Mustang Mach-E owners with the extended-range battery, the 250 kWh of fast-charging energy is equal to more than three fill-ups. For standard-range battery models, the 250 kilowatt-hours of fast charging energy is equal to more than five fill-ups.

Many studies have confirmed the health benefits of replacing internal-combustion vehicles with EVs, but a new Canadian study puts a dollar amount on those benefits. A single electric car replacing a gasoline car brings approximately CD$10,000 (about $7,400 at current exchange rates) in "social benefits," according to the study, which was drafted.

Pursuant to section 95489(c)(3)(B) of the Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) Regulation, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) Executive Officer has posted the final 2017 Crude Average Carbon Intensity calculation: 12.52 CI (gCO 2 e/MJ). The 2019 CI is up from 2018 (12.35) and from 2017 (11.93); volume delivered to California refineries was down, however: 584,313,143 barrels in 2019, versus 624,127,435 in 2018 and 621,246,732 in 2017.

European car buyers can now get an electric van that seats up to nine people. It's the Citroën Ë-Spacetourer, an all-electric version of one of the French automaker's existing vans. Instead of the internal-combustion powertrains used in other SpaceTourer variants, the Ë-Spacetourer gets a single electric motor making 80 kilowatts.
