This is part of a larger effort by Ford to explore different design strategies for light chassis development, including magnesium subframes, carbon fiber subframes, aluminum cross-members and lightweight coil springs. The design has passed all performance requirements based on computer-aided engineering (CAE) analyses.
To source the new lightweight track-capable carbon fiber wheels that are standard on the new Shelby GT350R Mustang, Ford partnered with Australia-based Carbon Revolution. The wheels are so light, the springs and MagneRide dampers had to be recalibrated because the suspension can respond considerably faster to road inputs.
At the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit this week, Ford delivered first proof of that focus with the reveal of the new Ford GT carbon-fiber supercar, as well as the new F-150 Raptor based on the new aluminum F-150 and the Shelby GT350R Mustang. —Raj Nair. Aerodynamics.
Announced by Secretary Brouillette in January 2020, the Energy Storage Grand Challenge is designed to create and sustain US global leadership in energy storage technology, utilization, and exports. Rational Electrolyte Design for Li-ion Batteries with Micro-Sized Silicon Anodes. University of Maryland. Enovix Corporation. 4,933,028.
The Ford Performance lineup includes Ford GT, Focus RS, F-150 Raptor, Shelby GT350 and Shelby GT350R, Focus ST and Fiesta ST. We believe the Ford GT’s advances in aerodynamics, light-weighting and EcoBoost power will make for a compelling race car that can once again compete on a global stage.
A higher compression ratio can be used if an engine will operate primarily at light loads, such that degraded efficiency at high loads is more than offset by improved efficiency at light loads. The compression ratio selected for a particular engine depends, the authors note, on the expected duty cycle and fuel octane.
The piston has a shallow bowl designed to ensure stable combustion during engine cold-start operations. In developing the system, Ford engineers focused on fundamental physics, with an emphasis including injector spray pattern, piston geometry, intake port design, and innovation of operating strategies. Configuration of the 3.5L
The lenses in our mobile devices typically collect and direct incoming light by refraction, using a curve in a transparent material, usually plastic, to bend the rays. These nanostructures use a phenomenon called metasurface optics to direct and focus light. For one, the flat edges of facets become sources of stray light.
High-powered Mustang GT, Mach1 and Shelby GT500 versions are well-known, with the latter model pumping-out 760 pin-you-back-in-your-seat horsepower. The 2021 Mustang coupe has the distinctive fastback design, and is done in a retro-modern style, harkening back to the 1965 Mustang. Shelby GT500 $74,095. Ponies in the puddle.
17:51 CST – Laurie Shelby takes the stage to talk about the sustainability for Tesla for employees. Actuators, battery packs, and Optimus’ other key components are custom designed by Tesla. Cybertruck is also designed with a local controller for better wire pathways. He thanks the Tesla team as well.
