As part of what has become a global recall of the third-generation Prius, Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), USA Inc, will conduct a voluntary safety recall on approximately 133,000 2010 Model Year Prius vehicles and 14,500 Lexus Division 2010 HS 250h vehicles to update software in the vehicle’s anti-lock brake system (ABS). Kyodo News reports that Toyota Motor Corp. The SAI reportedly will have the same basic structure as the recently introduced Lexus HS 250h, but with different exterior and interior designs. Toyota is also planning to release a less pricey compact hybrid based on the Vitz, and a minivan type hybrid as early as in 2011.

Toyota plans to begin a gradual rollout in Japan in mid-2010 of its newly developed “G Sports” (G) sports conversion car series.
