Duke Energy proposes $76M electric transportation program in North Carolina; Southeast’s largest utility EV initiative yet

Duke Energy is proposing a $76-million initiative to spur EV adoption across the state of North Carolina—the largest investment in electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure yet in the Southeast US. Currently, North Carolina has more than 10,000 plug-in hybrid and all-electric vehicles.

Siemens to expand EV charging manufacturing in US to support rapid market growth

The plant will serve as a counterpart to Siemens’ existing operations in Wendell, North Carolina, where the company manufactures charging solutions for buses, trucks and heavy-duty electric vehicles. In 2019, Siemens expanded the 272,000-square-foot Wendell facility to manufacture DC fleet EV chargers, adding more than 50 jobs.
