Though it is established as Japan’s leading green car, production of the Toyota Prius is now heading to China. The Sichuan FAW Toyota Motor Company, which is a joint vehicle production company with China FAW Group Corporation, has started production of the vehicle at its Changchun Plant.

The plug-in version of the third-generation Toyota Prius will be open to leasing at the end of this year in Japan. Around 200 versions of the vehicle, equipped with a lithium-ion battery, will be made available and designated to government ministries, local governments and corporations.
