Li Auto 's first all-electric model will go into production at its Beijing plant, with an annual capacity of 100,000 all-electric vehicles in the first phase. Li Auto's current vehicles -- the Li L7, Li L8 and Li L9 -- are all extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs), all produced at its plant in Changzhou, Jiangsu province, in eastern China.

At a press conference in Shanghai, General Motors Chairman and CEO Mary Barra said that the company will introduce at least 10 new energy vehicles (NEVs) in China. In June, GM began using mass-production methods for autonomous vehicles. According to Barra, customers do not just appreciate connected vehicles, they demand them.

The Nikkei reports that Mitsubishi will soon introduce five other electric models, and that by fiscal 2013, it intends to sell upwards of 30,000 electric vehicles and be profitable. Planned vehicles reportedly include: A left-side-steering version of the i-MiEV for the European market in the second half of fiscal 2010.
