BMW Connected, a new personal mobility companion, made its world debut at Microsoft Build 2016, Microsoft’s developer conference, last week. The first version—called BMW Connected North America—is now available at the Apple App Store to BMW ConnectedDrive customers in the US for iOS devices.

Sony Honda Mobility (SHM), the newly formed mobility joint venture between Honda and Sony ( earlier post ), held a press conference announcing its establishment and outlining its direction and approach to becoming a software-oriented “Mobility Tech Company” providing high value-added products and services.

The new research effort, named CSRC Next, will focus on the challenges and opportunities of autonomous and connected vehicle technologies over the next decade. CSRC is working with the Toyota Research Institute (TRI) and Toyota Connected (TC). It is a track record of success that gives us tremendous confidence as we launch CSRC Next.
