Universal Hydrogen was granted a special airworthiness certificate in the experimental category by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to proceed with the first flight of its hydrogen-powered regional aircraft. The Dash 8-300 flying testbed has a megawatt-class hydrogen fuel cell powertrain installed in one of its nacelles.

NZ Post has purchased the first of Hyundai New Zealand’s five XCIENT hydrogen-powered fuel cell electric trucks. The New Zealand Government Emissions Reduction Plan includes a target to cut emissions from freight transport by 35% by 2035.

China represents roughly one-third of global deployments, but the US lags far behind with less than 100 hydrogen stations. Another four Asia-Pacific countries have also deployed hydrogen stations.
