On December 16, 2010 the US DOE Energy Information Agency (EIA) published a report projecting that renewable energy will still only constitute 12 percent of the USA’s energy sources by 2035. And just like Woody, I’d like to sing you a song about a better way… My friends, with greenhouse gas emissions already in the danger zone, we needed to stop burning Killer Coal yesterday. Seems like a perfect use for some stimulus money, don’t it? We cannot afford to wait for them and we don’t have to.

Electric cars and a smart electric grid have a bright future, according to panelists at a roundtable discussion on the subject that I attended last Friday in Boston. “I Vehicle-to-grid is, I believe, the salvation of the automotive industry in the United States,” declared Marc Spitzer, an agency commissioner who was also on the panel.
