The California Air Resources Board (ARB) released a summary of its proposed Advanced Clean Cars (ACC) regulation package ( earlier post ), which establishes stringent new emissions standards for light duty vehicles from 2015 through 2025. It is designed to parallel the national greenhouse gas and fuel economy standards rule the U.S.

White Clean Air Vehicle Stickers are available to an unlimited number of qualifying Federal Inherently Low Emission Vehicles (ILEVs). Cars that meet these requirements are typically certified pure zero emission vehicles (100% battery-electric and hydrogen fuel cell) and compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles.

Toyota pulled the sheet off the 2023 Prius before the media in Los Angeles on November 16. The 2023 Prius Hybrid is available with a single electric motor and front-wheel drive (FWD) or with dual motors for the all-wheel drive (AWD) model. For the Prius Prime PHEV, Toyota did not release the expected fuel economy.

It is rare when we post a review of a car that is only available in one of the 50 United States, but such is the case with the 2022 Toyota Mirai hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV), which is only sold in California. Those lucky enough to live in California have the opportunity to own one of the nicest electric cars on the road.

If there was ever a car on the road fitting the bill as future, it is the 2024 Toyota Mirai Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV). This is impressive as there are only 55 operating hydrogen fuel stations in the state and the availability of hydrogen is sometimes spotty. No plugging in to an electrical outlet.

The 2014 Mazda6 sedan made its North American debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show. liter gasoline engine, goes on sale in January. Performance estimates for the SKYACTIV-D clean diesel engine are not yet available. Other improvements include internal engine friction reduced by 20% and fuel economy increases by up to 20%.
