The US Department of Energy (DOE) has revised its procedures for calculating the petroleum-equivalent fuel economy of EVs. The Petroleum Equivalency Factor (PEF) is used by the EPA to assess automakers’ compliance with the DOT’s Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards.
