Business Finland has awarded €2.3 With the loan, the Finland-based company is developing a green hydrogen and ammonia production concept. This will create a significant reduction in emissions. Besides ammonia, it can be powered by bio oil or MDO. At the end of 2021, Flexens Oy Ab joined as the company’s owner.

Development of high-temperature electrolysis, CO 2 capture, and hydrocarbon synthesis technologies have been completed in a Business Finland-funded Veturi E-fuel research project; the integrated technology is now ready for implementation. The work has started by first modifications to the research infrastructure at VTT Bioruukki.

Finland-based UPM, one of the world’s leading forest products groups, will build a hydrotreatment biorefinery producing biofuels from crude tall oil in Lappeenranta, Finland. Crude tall oil is a residue of chemical pulp production, mainly generated in the production of sulphate cellulose from softwood.
