Charged : You’ve done some pilot programs with battery-electric planes, but your long-term idea is to build fuel cell aircraft, correct? The idea from day one was hydrogen fuel cell-based drivetrains, but it’s hydrogen-electric, so you have to build the electric part. In those environments, batteries work pretty well.

Foundation for Skydio’s drones can be traced back to Adam’s work on autonomous agile drones at MIT , and after spending a few years at Google working on Project Wing’s delivery drones , Adam cofounded Skydio in 2014. Our basic goal is to build in the skills of an expert pilot into the drone itself, which involves a little bit of hardware.

The way we build and ship software these days is mostly ridiculous, leading to apps using millions of lines of code to open a garage door, and other simple programs importing 1,600 external code libraries —dependencies—of unknown provenance. It is still worth reading today since we have gone quite mad collectively. We don’t even know.
