Denmark leads the way when it comes to putting zero-emission urban buses on the streets in Europe, with 78% of new vehicles being electric, according to the latest data from green NGO Transport & Environment. In Luxembourg and the Netherlands about two-thirds of new buses were zero-emissions.

Volvo Cars successfully places first green bond, raises €500M

The proceeds of the bond will be used to fund the design, development and manufacturing of fully electric cars in line with the company’s recently established Green Finance Framework. The settlement date is expected to be 7 October 2020 and the bonds will be listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange.

MAN Lion’s City 18 E articulated electric bus to begin practical testing in Barcelona and Cologne later this year

In the MAN Lion’s City 18 E, the fully electric driveline produces between 320 kW and a maximum of 480 kW. The energy for this comes from the modular batteries with 640 kWh of installed capacity. Here, MAN relies on the fully developed lithium-ion (NMC) battery cell technology from the Volkswagen Group’s modular kit.

SAIC introduces large electric panel van in Europe: Maxus EV80

The Maxus EV80 van has become the first fully electric large panel van on European roads, ahead of the brand’s full launch in 2019. Maxus offers a three-year bumper-to-bumper warranty, and a battery warranty of five years or 100,000 km. SAIC Mobility Europe was formally established in Luxembourg.
