Oxford Catalysts raises £21M to accelerate commercialization of synthetic fuels technology

Green Car Congress

This is the latest step in the Oxford Catalysts Group’s drive to commercialize its technology for the production of synthetic fuels from conventional fossil fuels and renewable sources such as biowaste, primarily through its microchannel process technology platform which is able to accelerate chemical reactions by 10- to 1000-fold.

Scenario study suggests increased vehicle electrification in Europe increases demand for gas in power sector; limited ability for power-to-gas

Green Car Congress

The study is based on a set of scenarios for 2050 of electrification in five European countries: Austria (AT), Belgium (BE), France (FR), Germany (DE) and the Netherlands (NL). The gradual introduction of renewable gases has not been fully taken into account.

International study identifies 14 key measures to reduce methane and black carbon emissions; reduction in projected global mean warming of ~0.5 °C by 2050

Green Car Congress

Black carbon, a product of burning fossil fuels or biomass such as wood or dung, can worsen a number of respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. Seven measures target CH 4 emissions, covering coal mining, oil and gas production, long-distance gas transmission, municipal waste and landfills, wastewater, livestock manure, and rice paddies.

Joint IEA-NEA report details plunge in costs of renewable electricity; nuclear competitive with other baseload power sources

Green Car Congress

The report, Projected Costs of Generating Electricity: 2015 Edition , also shows that new nuclear power plants generate electricity more cheaply than other established “baseload” sources—mainly coal- and gas-fired power plants—over the full lifetime of facilities when financing costs are relatively low.

How Will EV Charging Powered by Renewable Energy Create a Greener World

Driivz

Renewable energy was the main source of energy before the discovery of oil, coal, and natural gas. Iceland, Norway, Canada, Sweden, New Zealand, and Austria were the global leaders in hydroelectric as of 2019. It comes from natural sources that continuously regenerate, such as sunlight, wind, water (in motion), and geothermal.
