AT&T deploys 4,000th alternative fuel vehicle

AT&T has deployed its 4,000 th alternative-fuel vehicle (AFV) in its US corporate fleet. The vehicles are part of AT&T’s planned 10-year initiative to invest up to $565 million to replace approximately 15,000 fleet vehicles with alternative fuel models through 2018.

DOE awards LanzaTech $4M for low-carbon jet & diesel demo plant; 3M gpy; Audi evaluating fuel properties

LanzaTech has been selected by the Department of Energy’s Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO) to receive a $4-million award to design and plan a demonstration-scale facility using industrial off gases to produce 3 million gallons/year of low-carbon jet and diesel fuels. City of Springfield, Illinois converts 24 vehicles to propane autogas

A recently installed on-site refueling station featuring a CleanFUEL USA CFT Pro 2100 autogas dispenser will fuel the vehicles, used by the City’s public works department. When compared with gasoline, vehicles fueled by propane autogas emit 20% less NO x , 60% less carbon monoxide and up to 25% less greenhouse gases.

UPS plans to build 9 additional LNG stations at cost of ~$50M

UPS has used LNG vehicles for more than a decade and has benefited from lower fuel prices compared to imported petroleum. The expansion will include on-site fueling stations in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Texas.
