Based on an average new car fuel economy of 25.3 mpg, Volt drivers have saved nearly 58 million gallons of fuel. The second-generation Volt improves on the pioneering work of the original, adding additional electric-only range, improved fuel economy of 106 mpg-e and 42 mpg, and a chassis that is lighter than the original.

Local Electric Driving, No Range Anxiety. Volvo has been talking about going electric a lot lately. The company plans to do it with a mixture of all-electric vehicles, like the new XC40 Recharge, and plug-in hybrid versions of its SUVs and sedans. The XC90 Recharge is an example of the second group. It also adds 111 lb.

Clean Fleet Report was driving the highly optioned Limited, which had the standard solar panel roof that charges the 12-volt and hybrid batteries, producing two miles of electric driving range for every six hours the car is left in the sun. Smart mode will give you the best fuel economy while compromising slightly on performance.

New Sporty Look for the Affordable 50 MPG Midsize Sedan. A spacious interior with a smooth comfortable ride, high fuel economy (we broke 50 mpg!), liter four-cylinder engine combined with an 88-kilowatt electric motor. The electric power steering connected the front wheels to the road with a positive and direct feel.
