In conjunction with the Memorandum, the General Services Administration (GSA) launched a pilot project to incorporate electric vehicles and technologies into the Federal fleet. Optimum fleet size. GSA announced its initial purchase of more than 100 electric vehicles for a vehicle pilot.

In 2019, Clean Energy unveiled ambitious goals to exclusively offer zero-carbon Redeem at all of its fueling stations by 2025. At this pace Clean Energy would outdistance other alternative fuels, including electric vehicles, which are not expected to hit that mark until 2045.

Under its newly-unveiled Genesis 2015 plan, the University of South Carolina will reduce CO 2 emissions from its fleet of vehicles by 90% within five years. The university has about 400 vehicles that are used for business, maintenance and transportation of students, said Derrick Huggins, associate vice president for transportation.

Among other enhancements, buses will be equipped with Cummins-Westport Near-Zero engines and fueled by Renewable Natural Gas, to further reduce NO x vehicle emissions by more than 90% by December 2018. The fleet enhancements are part of a larger series of strategic improvements we will roll out over the next 12-18 months.

Boston Public Schools will operate 11% of its bus fleet with Blue Bird propane autogas buses, starting with the 2015-2016 school year. The school district is purchasing 86 Blue Bird Propane Vision school buses, and hopes to convert more of their diesel fleet to propane buses in the future.

During 2015, UPS plans to complete installation of ORION routing on about 70% of the planned routes. By operating one unified fleet with ORION technology, UPS can optimize pickup and deliveries across its operation. By the end of 2017, UPS anticipates logging one billion miles from its alternative fuel fleet.
