In recent years, Scania has also delivered ethanol buses for commercial service in Great Britain, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Norway and elsewhere. LeasePlan, a Dutch financial institution specializing in fleet management, and Nissan signed an agreement to cooperate in a European-wide project to launch the electric Nissan LEAF in 2011. The car will be mass-marketed globally from 2012 onwards. LeasePlan operates a fleet of more than 1.3 million vehicles globally.

The success of the UPS eBike was first demonstrated in 2012 in Hamburg, Germany ( earlier post ), and serves as a prototype for the company’s newest cargo eBike in Seattle. The cargo eBike is part of a broader UPS strategy to continue to electrify its delivery fleet. In Washington, UPS uses 10 electric and hybrid electric vehicles.

By the second half of 2011 Keolis’ vehicle fleet in Sweden will consist of approximately 2,000 buses, of which more than 60% will be running on renewable fuels. Deliveries of the buses will take place from April until July, and the buses will start operating between June and August.

Volvo says it will build about 250 cars by the end of 2012, possibly more if market interest takes off. The Volvo C30 Electric will be manufactured and delivered to leasing customers throughout Europe, including in Sweden, Belgium, the Netherlands and Norway.
