The California Energy Commission approved nearly $9 million in grants for the installation of DC fast chargers along major state freeways and highways to allow electric vehicle drivers to travel from San Diego to the Oregon border without worrying about running out of energy. The University of California, Irvine, administers the program.

The [nano-structured hard] carbon is able to store more than standard graphite (which is what the 50% is based on) because it has a disorganized amorphous structure. Hard carbon is not limited in this way because of the disorganized morphology and so it can store a higher number of lithium atoms for every carbon atom.
