BMW partners with Green Mountain Energy Company to offer renewable energy certificates to BMW ActiveE Drivers

As of May 2012, ActiveE drivers can install solar panels on their homes for a discount of approximately 35%. The feedback from customers testing the MINI E and the BMW ActiveE will be fed directly into series production of the BMW i3. 700 BMW ActiveEs are on the road in the US, mostly in private hands.

In 2011, batteries which were previously used in the MINI E test fleet were successfully implemented in a stationary project.
