Here goes (in no particular order): Things That Went Well During the Conversion The 914 AC kit from Electro Automotive is a good one. I modified the wiring in the original 914 AC kit (as suggested by Paul Jorg) to turn on the regen when the brake lights came on instead of controlling regen by releasing the accelerator pedal.

I drove the electric 914 back out to Camp914 where I originally purchased the car and drove it away as a gasoline vehicle. Camp 914 is a fun place with many 914s as well as other Porsches and classic cars. I've mentioned before that I'm working on an open-source EV kit. Yesterday was fun. However, if I start from a stoplight in the same way as a gasoline vehicle (rev the engine and slowly let out the clutch), I can start much more quickly than if I just leave the clutch out and floor the accelerator from a stopped motor. Note: the kit instructions mention that the bolts that tie the motor mount in the kit to the front Porsche motor mount are 3 1/2 inches long; however, I think this is a typo because I had to go back and purchase 2 1/2 inch bolts because the 3 1/2 ones were almost exactly one inch too long.

The dangling white and green wire go to the ammeter shunt and the dangling black wire I think is not used in the AC kit. I was also able to turn on the CD player and it started playing the CD I had left in there from when the car had a gasoline (yuck!) The moment of truth!
