It sounds like a utopian dream: rows of electric vehicles staying cool and charging away beneath solar panels while their owners shop, dine and conduct business. The right changes to infrastructure, technology and policies could reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 70% by 2050—a crucial deadline for controlling rising temperatures.

Others are sugarcane molasses ethanol from Guatemala; mixed feedstock to biodiesel from Texas; and a new ARB-staff-developed pathway for North American landfill gas. The CI of a fuel is determined by the sum of all greenhouse gas emissions associated with the production, transportation, processing and consumption of a fuel (its pathway).

The California Air Resources Board (ARB) staff has posted six new Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) pathway applications to the LCFS public comment web site: corn ethanol; molasses ethanol (from Brazil); palm fatty acid distillates (PFAD) to biodiesel; and landfill gas to LNG, L-CNG, and CNG. I wrote back in December about my unhappy experience attempting to charge my loaner LEAF at San Francisco City Hall's electric car charging stations. It's city, state and federal policy to enable electric cars for the emissions and petroleum reduction they provide. A threat taken seriously in San Francisco. There is a cost to charging.

Automakers agree on common plug to recharge electric vehicles by Darren Murph , posted Apr 19th 2009 at 4:24PM Just hours after General Motors put forth a proposal for a standardized plug for electric vehicles , in flies this. Were still using the same style electrical plug 70 years later. yay same plug!
