Neste is the first company in Finland to provide a service for companies and other organizations to monitor their climate emissions caused by the use of transport fuels. Road transport accounts for more than 90% of the total transport emissions in Finland.

The plant is to be built by Koppö Energia Oy, a joint venture company between Germany’s Prime Green Energy Infrastructure Fund and CPC Finland Oy, in Kristinestad, Finland. It will have a capacity of 200 MW and will convert green electricity into hydrogen and sustainable LSM. The FEED will be booked by Wärtsilä in Q3, 2023.

E-fuels offer a way to expand the carbon-neutral transport fuel pool beyond biomass-based renewable fuels to replace fossil fuels in existing internal combustion engines. The end product is a transportation fuel suited for aircraft, ships as well as heavy and light road vehicles.

Renault Group and Finland-based metals producer Terrafame have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the future supply of nickel sulfate. Renault Group is building an electric ecosystem in Northern France known as Renault ElectriCity. The bioleaching process utilizes microbes to extract metals from ore.

Preem, the largest fuel company in Sweden, and Vattenfall have concluded an agreement to investigate the potential Vattenfall’s providing of hydrogen gas in the large scale production of biofuel for the Swedish market. Vattenfall can provide hydrogen gas required for the production of drop-in biofuels.
