On the heels of the C-V2X direct communications program launch last week in San Diego, Qualcomm announced the launch of a new C-V2X pilot program in Honolulu. The Qualcomm 9150 C-V2X platform features direct communication range and reliability and reduced latency in the face of congested roadways.

Proterra Catalyst vehicles have no tailpipe emissions and decrease dependency on fossil fuels. Tailpipe emissions are reduced by 230,000 pounds of CO 2 annually each time a conventionally-fueled diesel vehicle is replaced by a Proterra electric bus. Proterra battery-electric buses will contribute to CLT’s sustainability goals.

A report authored by Sandia National Laboratories on the project found that the project showed that it is possible to increase energy efficiency by up to 30% at part load and reduce emissions to zero through the use of hydrogen fuel cells.
